Volver [404 Visualizer]

A concept concert visualizer for VOLVER by Tainy, Skrillex, Four Tet, and Rauw Alejandro. Built around the emotional loops of the track, the piece explores love, loss, and disconnection through a digital lens.
8/10

Emotion meets error,
love loops in code
VOLVER is a genre-fusing collaboration that blends reggaeton with experimental EDM. Lyrically, it’s a melancholic loop—reliving the ache of lost love and the temptation to return. The song’s repetition, glitchy vocal effects, and emotional push-pull inspired a visual response rooted in broken signals and emotional static. The visualizer reflects the digital nostalgia of Tainy’s DATA album while turning emotional misfires into design language.

Designing disconnection through glitch and codeTo echo the theme of failed connections, I developed a visual language inspired by ASCII art, glitch systems, and retro computer UIs. I leaned into early-internet aesthetics—distorted terminals, flashing error messages, and corrupted text blocks—to create an environment of emotional latency and digital disrepair. The visuals intentionally loop, stutter, and break, just like the track’s obsessive lyrics and fragmented emotions.
